A Place of Healing…

Please understand
I’m not leaving you
Because I don’t love you
I’m leaving because
You are trying
To change me
And honey
I’ve climbed mountains
Burned down bridges
Won wars
To be who I am today©
I braced your back
Against my hands
As I poured my words over you
Poetry tracing the shape
Of your body
Tasting
Needing
The light, warm and sweet
Between your soul
A solitary longing
Coming undone
The night is broken
Screaming out our need
In reckless abandonment©

I like that
Your soul is quite
That you know
Who you are
Loving the parts
Of you that are unloveable
Embracing the scars
And the darkness
That once tormented you
You’ve found peace in chaos
And vulnerability
In your courage
To accept change
And that is a beautiful thing©

I see you
In between the crowd
Lost in a world of chaos
But no matter where you are
I see you, I feel you
Your pain is in my blood
My soul weeps with yours
My heart breaks with yours
With every teardrops
I’ll paint our world
In poetry
Words deeply imbued
With hope©

Soul derailed
Heart slipping on
On brokenness
Regretting the days
Spent in isolation
No one knew the strength
It took to walked
A straight line
Little by little
Anger stole my joy
No one saw the gravestone
In my eyes.

He bought me flowers
And pretty little things
He called me beautiful
He wrote poetry
Upon my soul
With all the right words
He gave me everything
Everything except
His heart©
