How strange
This naked longing
That moves within me
Each hollow space
Devoid of emotion
Grasp a fleeting glimpse
Of what was
Ephemeral love©
Silvered bones
Degenerate
The body recluse
Into itself
Remembering the days
When life was simple
And hearts humbled©
She stood by him
Being the light
In his dark world
Loving him
No matter the cost
She had wings
Yet she refuses to fly©
There’s nothing left behind
All that I am
Can now be found
Here
With you
A promise kept
My days unassuming
Are now complete©

Drowning in a pool of my inner self
Unable to remember, to see clearly.
Time rob me of all I knew, everything I hold dear
Erased, like the dew that slips through at day break
So does memories of you.
I held them once; your memories,
They kept me through the years
Fading slowing, I tried to hold on.
I felt them now!
Deep down in the grey remains, I see your face
Smiling, bidding me to remember
To reach for what’s no longer there.
I reached out and touched loneliness
I smiled; knowing I can’t miss what’s not there.
Emptiness has filled the void where you once lived.
I knew you once!
I knew you when time was on my side
When promises burst open
And I fell deeply In love with you.
Now, remember me
As I was then
As I am now©
Facing reality
A final contemplation
To let go
Of a world
That trembles and break
When I whisper
Your name©
